Edwin A. “Ed,” peacefully on May 8, 2023, age 97, of Audubon. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, and friend. Ed had a strong belief in his faith and was a member of the Haddon Heights Baptist Church. He served proudly as a paratrooper in the United States Army during World War II, in the Philippines and Japan (Hiroshima). After the war he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from John Brown University, and served as a Christian missionary in Guatemala for 12 years. He taught math at Haddon Heights Christian School (formally Baptist High School) for over twenty years. Throughout his life he served the Lord with all his heart. He was the beloved husband to the late June (nee Smith); loving father of W. Allen Yoder (Kimberly) and Rebecca A. Colby (Robert); caring grandfather of Renee, Peter (Faith), Regina (Brandon), Jonathan, Nicholas, Danielle (Nate), Debrah, Stephanie (Aaron), Robert (Catherine), and Kathryn (Dave); and cherished greatgrandfather of 21. Also survived by his sister, Sally Miller. Predeceased by his son, Tim, and his daughter, Ruthie. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Relatives and friends were invited to attend his graveside ceremony at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ed Yoder’s name to Haddon Heights Christian School, 300 Station Avenue, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035 (hhbcnj.org/give).
